Driver recruitment has become a problem for taxi companies in the Covid-19 recovery period. On average, driver numbers for taxi fleets are still down about 20% on pre-Covid numbers. Some taxi drivers are reluctant to return to work, and while naturally there is a degree of turnover in any fleet, many taxi companies are struggling to recruit new drivers to fill their places. Demand on the other hand is picking up, so what we are now seeing is a supply problem. Taxi fleets are struggling to keep up with bookings, which means that customers are seeing longer wait times or worse still having their bookings unserviced.

We put together a panel to discuss tactics to help taxi fleets attract existing drivers back to work, as well as strategies for recruiting new drivers in the new post-Covid landscape. Watch the discussion back to avail of this advice.
